Celebrating the 45th Anniversary of American Handgunner

We here at Baron Engraving are proud to be a part of the 45th Anniversary celebration of American Handgunner and their 45th Anniversary .45!

Introduced in 1976 American Handgunner was the first magazine devoted entirely to handguns. Being around for almost half a century is a significant milestone for any publication and worthy of recognition. To celebrate their 45 years in existence, they logically came up with the plan to create a custom gun chambered in .45 Colt.

Of the many options to choose from, the decision was made to bestow this anniversary honor on the Cimarron Frontier .45. From there, the powers to be at American Handgunner entrusted the gun to Baron Engraving for embellishment and make it worthy of commemorating the 45th anniversary.

Once the Cimarron arrived in our facility, we assigned the task of making it special to Heidi Roos, one of our in-house master hand engravers. She decided to leave the gun’s stock color case hardening and add extra deep and bright hand cuts, so her design would clearly show through the darker and colorful finish. The frame screws were fire blued and the barrel, ejector rod housing, trigger guard, backstrap, and cylinder were all adorned with classic American Scroll design engraving. Additionally, 24-karat gold bands were added on the cylinder as well as “American Handgunner” text engraving on the barrel.

The result is a stunning custom single-action revolver that is worthy of being on the cover of the 45th-anniversary issue of an iconic handgun publication.
